Book bash 2015

Description:term 4 has just started and we do reading a bit different now. We have been put in reading groups and I am in madam spry. We got in the groups by picking three books and the teachers chose 

one out of those three and put me it madam spry. So that is how I am in madam spry.

1. Assess the cover design, blurb and title.  

.What made you choose this book?The title and the first page as soon as I read the first page it was so interesting.

.What appeals to you?on the front cover she looks like she is a spy and it looks interesting.

.What hooked you in?The blurb and the title.

1. Title - "Madam spry and the blue Dimond" sounds like an interesting story. I don't know what the story is about but I will find out when I read it. Why is it called madam spry instead of madam spy?

Cover design - I think the illustrations look quite fun. I wonder why there is a police looking up at her? And how did she get on the roof and why is she on the roof.

Blurb - when she got a letter it said there is an emergency and come quick, that really hooked me in! I can't wait to read some more. Once I got a letter from my grandma but it wasn't an emergency.

Predictions - I think the story is set in a small city. I think that the blue Dimond has been stolen bye someone and madam spry is helping too catch the theft and maybe the police is helping her I don't know the theft is yet but I will find out.

Te reo

Description:Every Monday some people go to kappa Haka and the people who don't go to Kappa Haka are doing et reo. I do et reo! we learn the Maori body parts and sing some Maori songs. I like Te reo because you get to make posters and movies and I made a movie and it was fun.

Big idea:for Te reo I am in a group of two I was in a three but kiana had to go with someone else so I am just with Alyssa and she is good at it so I am glad I am with her.

Feedback: I like how you added the song to explain the body parts in Maori.

Feed forward: maybe next time you could explain what the words mean.

Evaluation:I think I need to work on making my movie more interesting so people will watch it.

Portfolio writing

Description:in school we are doing writing and I am in Kate's writing group and it is F U N fun because we get to choose the sort of writing we want to do and I chose to do a description because I love to do them and I love writing. When we did our writing it had to do with LIFE and so I did a story about my uncle that I had never seen in reall life only on pitchers so I hope you enjoy my writing.

Title:uncle Scotty 

Description:my uncle Scotty died because he had cancer and he was very sick and about one month later he had a heart attack and died. But there was something really special about him and that was that he was the most kindest person in the whole wide world! He's was thoughtful caring and loving. But when we heard that he had died everyone was so sad and terrified. I never actually saw my uncle so I don't know what he looked like. But I am sure he looked nice and handsome.  

Big idea:what i am trying to tell you is that even if you think your life is not going the way you want it to other people think that you get on well and you try your best.look At this quote!🌅

Feedback: I enjoy the quote and I also feel sorry for you because you never met your uncle.

Feed forward: maybe next time you could put into your writing of what your parents really liked about him. Devin 

Evaluation:I think I need to work on making my story sound interesting so that people will keep reading my story and not think it is boring but I have tried my best and I am proud of what I have done.

Maths learning

Description:in maths we have been leaning lots of ways to equal this ?x?=?.

Problem 1

Big idea: I solved my problem bye drawing cars and putting 5 people I each car and that was 6 cars and 1 person left.

 

Problem 2

I worked this out bye putting 6 in each one and counting in 6's.

Pop Art Portfolio

Description: Every Thursday afternoon we do some activists and there is one drama with troy two is pop art with Kate and last is passion project with suzan. I am in pop art with Kate and I am so happy that I am because art is my favourite thing in the world. Pop art is a tipe of art that when you do four squares and draw the same pitcher on each one. Then you paint all of them different colours and I gives that special affect. There was some famous pop artists and one of them was

Richard Hamilton and Robert Raucshenbe. Here is my pop art.

Big idea:the reason I choose this pitcher is because at my house I have a real bunny so I thought I could do a bunny so it represents my life and what I have. My favourite animal is bunny that is why I love bunnies.

Feedback:I like all of the colours on the rabbits I like the way that you got different colours on the rabbits.

Feedford:maybe  you should add more information and colours.

Reading Portfolio Term 3 Tic Tac Toe

Description: For my portfolio sample I am in summarising I choose to do summarising because I think it is something I need to work on so I can pronounce my words right and make it make sense. summarising Is a key word and a key word is a word that describes something or unlocks a sentience.

In my workshops I have learned everything that I just told you. A tic tac toe is a sheet that tells you the things you must do and the things you can do the tic tac toe I choose is somebody wanted but so then.

Big idea:I learnt in summarising that you need to think about what you are going to write and say so it will make sense and we understand the meaning.

Feedback:I like the why that you put in the image so we know what you are doing and what it is about.

Feedforward:i think that you should make the word bigger so I can read it. By kiana😀

Evaluation: next time I think I could try a bit harder and do a bit more work and don't talk as much so I can get more work done and published.

Everyone is a genius

Description: when you want to do something that you see someone else do and you think you can't do it give it a go and if you give it a go and you don't do it just try and try and you will get there! Also don't judge people by their looks or actions just go up to them and ask them if they want to play with you.
